This Grade II listed building was built about 1824 for Thomas Hall, a West Riding magistrate from Castleford. The stone building was originally called Purston Lodge, but it was renamed Featherstone Hall on the death of the owner. After a succession of owners and tenants, the estate was sold to Featherstone Council in 1930 for £3,600, after which it was used as the Town Hall and a public park.
